Victor Ubom, M.D. | Board Certified Surgeon
Victor O. Ubom went to Texas Southern University where he completed his B.Sc. in Pharmacy and graduated Magna Cum Laude in 1974. He attended The College of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery, Des Moines University from 1974-1977. He did a rotating Internship in 1978, at Des Moines General Hospital. Victor then moved to Detroit Michigan where he completed the General Surgery Residency Program at Michigan Osteopathic Medical Center in 1982. He then practiced General Surgery for several years in that area. Victor then moved to Philadelphia Pennsylvania, where he completed a Fellowship in General Vascular Surgery at Franklin Square Hospital in 1993.
Dr. Victor Ubom is a certified Wound Care Specialist and General Vascular Surgeon that has been practicing Advanced Wound Care since 1994. He believes in treating the whole patient, not just the wound, and welcomes the most challenging of wounds. His practice has been dedicated to restoring and preventing skin and wound care complications in nursing home settings throughout Michigan by providing optimal patient care. Once the etiology of the wound is determined, Dr. Ubom uses a variety of clinical treatments including; advanced wound care, hyperbaric oxygen therapy, and surgical intervention.
Along with being the Medical Director of Michigan Wound Care and Hyperbaric Institute, Dr. Ubom is on staff at numerous Skilled Nursing Facilities in Michigan. He is also an active member of various organizations, including The American College of Osteopathic Surgeons, Michigan Association of Osteopathic Physicians, The Nigerian Medical Society, and is a fellow of the American Professional Wound Care Association. Dr. Ubom has been recognized by his peers and has received a myriad of honors and accolades during his career.
